Bellarific Friday!

I am having a lot of fun today stamping in my "zone." I came across another AWESOME challenge - involving Bellas!! YEP, HOW EXCITING HEY?! I *heart* Bellas....this week's challenge over at Bloggabella is SPORTS/OLYMPICS. Now, I realize that I don't have an actual sports or olympic stamp, but I figured that working out, weighin in and keeping fit was all part of training and the "getting ready" for the Olympics or a sporting event :)

Here's the card I made today - I used the Marrakech Paper Collection Pack from Basic Grey to accompany this cute, fit Bella. I hope you enjoy her - I sure do!

Speaking of Olympics, *the* hockey game is about to start shortly, so I will be back later on...I am hoping I can report back with another GOLD MEDAL for Canada and another golden creation from MOI!! TTFN!

Early Sunday MOJO

Good morning crafting PEEPS! It was one early morning for me...DH had to leave at 6 a.m., so I was a good wifee and got up and made him breakfast, helped him pack a lunch and away he went...I decided I would brew some coffee, throw my hair in a pony, and sit and blog hop to see what wonderful crafting challenges were out there for me this morning. The blog hopping didn't last very long...DH called me at 7:20 and asked me to meet him at Crestomere Store (about 9 miles from here) and take him his cell phone that he forgot on the charger by the kitchen table. **ACK!** I had to quickly get dressed as I was chillaxin' in my thick, fuzzy, pink, warm housecoat! I got back around 7:45 and refilled the coffee mug and FINALLY got to go check out some challenges....here's what I found:

This wonderful color combo is from Stacey's Stamping Stage:

...and over at Stamp With Us challenge blog, I found this awesome, simple sketch:

...and over at Spoon Full of Sugar, Randi would like us to use distress inks, pearls and/or glitter.

...and over at Cute Card Thursday, the challenge this week is: Ribbon-tastic! Easy enough!!

So, here is my birthday card I created using the 4 challenges together:

Stamps: Older and Wiser (retired); Paper: Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette; Ink: markers; Accessories: ticket corner punch, scallop trim border punch, paper piercer, nesties, embossing folders, razzleberry ribbon, button, silver thread, pearls, paper flowers, vanilla brad

I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday so far...I know I am - even though it started wayyyyy earlier than I was anticipating, it was sure nice to watch the sun come up and shine so brightly. I am off to put a crock pot on for supper and start a load of laundry so that I can create more crafting messes in my room today! See you soon!

With Deepest Sympathy

A good friend of mine lost her mother-in-law this past week, so I needed to get a Sympathy card done. They are always so difficult for me to make, but today, for some reason, it went VERY WELL. I am pleased with the card....

I used Little Paper Shop's color challenge from Monday and KL Stampin N Scrappin's sketch challenge for today to make my card...

I hope you like it...I think it's a good Sympathy one - the Topiary set makes it VERY easy to make them. Thanks, Julia, for such a great set!! :o)

...well, I think this *might* be it for me for today...but one just never knows what the evening will play out for me. If you don't see me back tonight, I will definitely be back in the morning - I believe DH works tomorrow too.....more time in the craft room for me then :o)
G'night all!!

Bright Birthday Wishes

Well, hello again! It's been a very nice day today so far. The sun is out now and it's so cheery...and I need that right now - things lately have been too gloomy and blah - so some sunshine is very welcomed!
I decided to give the Sweet Stampin Sketch Challenge a go today and I wanted to use the nice bright, bold colors from Stampin Royalty again. I think my card turned out "ok." I'm not sure what else I could have done to it - maybe a knot in the ribbon on the bottom - but anyhew...it is what it is!! And it's bright and cheery! LOL...

...let me know what you think! I used the cute set "Happy Moments" from the Sale-a-Bration flyer and a lot of embossing folders.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far - I am. It's nice and quiet here - kids are busy doing stuff and I've been doing various jobs around the house and then coming back into my stamp room to CREATE. I am going to go and brew up some fresh, cinnamon-infused Starbuck's coffee (I just put cinnamon in the coffee grounds *wink*) and switch the laundry around and think of something for supper. DH will be home a bit later tonight so I need to get some stuff done around here so I can sit and visit with him...or maybe make more cards HEE HEE....
Have a good one!

Easter Bella

Goooood Saturday morning my fellow crafting PEEPS! I was *bound and determined* to sleep in today but lo and behold 7:10 a.m. BLAM! my little eyeballs popped open and that was it. I was doomed...*sigh* Oh well, just gives me more time to create and drink yummy Starbucks coffee, right?!

This morning I found an awesome sketch over at Sketch Saturday. I had stamped a Bella a few days ago, and she is a taller one, so this sketch fits her PERFECTLY! I remembered that I haven't done the Diva Coffee Break Designs color challenge this week of Razzleberry, Pale Plum and Celery...so, I figured those would go with an Easter stamp. No problem-o!

...this is the card I came up with for both challenges this morning:

...isn't she just the sweetest thing?! I love these girlies...so fun to color!!
I hope you have a super Saturday - are you creating today? I'd love to see some of your wonderful creations. I am going to go for another long walk sometime today - and I have some more cupboards/shelves that need purged. I will definitely be back though - there are a few more wonderful challenges that I need to contend with *giggle, snort*
Oh...and one more thing - isn't CANADA rockin' the Olympics!?!? I am SO PROUD of all our athletes and our country - we are doing FREAKIN' AWESOME! GO RED GO!!!

...so there ya have it folks! The bird cage is a new stamp set that I haven't had ink on yet AND it's popped up with dimensionals. It is also the focal point that I used as inspiration off the Pals Paper Arts Inspiration Challenge. I have ribbon, inked edges, a fancy scalloped punch edge, and I followed the sketch. The one and only thing I didn't do was a color challenge! HAHA

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Moments (Sale-a-Bration); Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sweet Pea DP, Pumpkin Pie, Teal; Ink: Chocolate Chip; Accessories: brads, paper piercer, dimensionals, sponge dauber, choc taffeta ribbon, scallop oval punch, oval punches, scallop trim punch, embossing folder

I sure hope you enjoy today's cards...I am off to get ready for the gym tonight and get a bit of housework done around the house. I probably will not be back into crafting land until tomorrow sometime.

Enjoy the rest of your Friday - and have a sunshine-filled weekend!

Bright Friday morning!

Happy Friday! Wow, is it ever bright and sunny here in central Alberta this morning. Very nice to see some sunshine and warm temp's...my walking bug is back and yesterday I went for a 5 mile walk/jog and I can't wait to get out there again (possibly tomorrow - today is a gym date) and enjoy the spring weather.

It's also quite *bright* here in my office this morning - due to a wonderful challenge from the gals over at Stampin' Royalty! Their color challenge this week is nice and bright and cheery. I snagged a sketch challenge from over at Friday Sketchers....it's an awesome one this week and I highly recommend you go and give it a whirl! I found one other challenge that I can use on my card...the Cupcake Craft Challenges gals are asking for creations having anything to do with "FRIENDS." Easy-peesy!

...here's my cutie patootie friendship LOVE BUG I created using all 3 challenges:

...isn't she just the CUUUTTEST?! I love these little bugs! This card came together VERY quickly for me this morning - maybe bold brights are my *thang*.....LOL...
Enjoy your Friday everyone - get out and get some lovely sunshine and fresh air today - feels great! HUGS!!!

Bella's Happy Thoughts....

Good morning! The sun is shining so brightly here this morning in central Alberta...makes my mood better :o)

I got up early this morning and got right to work on a combo challenge from Taylored Expressions and Color Throwdown. When I saw Taylor's sketch from Friday last week, I *knew* I wanted to use a Bella of some sort. I went through my stash and came up with a cute image to use for it.

Here is the card I created this morning using both challenges:

I really love Bella's....They are so fun to stamp and color - makes them come alive! This girlie reminds me of my wonderful trainer, Brett! I might even give her this card as a thanks for all she has done for me :)
Well, I am off to start on another creation....watch for an Easter-themed card coming up later on today!

All-day Card....

Happy Tuesday! It's been another FULL day here at the Turner house...it all started at 6 a.m. this morning with DH leaving for a safety course in Edmonton and it's been go-go-go all day ever since. I started this card this morning at about 7:30 and I JUST got it done about 1/2 hour ago! HA...it's been left unattended many times throughout the day...but...I got 'er done.....:o)

The color combination is from Scrapmaster's Paradise. Quite an interesting combo this time - I enjoyed the challenge! The neat sketch comes from Sketch Saturday.

...and here is my creation using the 2 challenges:

I dug through my sets of retired SU sets and came up with these cute candles from Older and Wiser. The sentiment is from Wagon Full of Fun. I hope you like it - I sure had fun making it today - I think this has to be my record for the L-O-N-G-E-S-T card evah!! hahahaha...I have another full day of appointments in town so I won't be around the craft room until tomorrow night. Have a super night!!

Viva la Verve Challenge - wedding

Hellllllloooo again :o) I was snooping around in blogland this afternoon and I popped on over to my talented friend, Leanne's blog, Banking on Crafts, and found a very interesting, new sketch challenge from Viva la Verve. I figured I should be able to incorporate a wedding card out of that - so I went to work.

I hope you like it...it was a fairly simple sketch this time and I must say that I sure did appreciate that - this card went together in about 10 mins. once I figured out what colors/paper I was going to use. So, thanks Viva la Verve gals for making another awesome sketch for us! I think I will make a few of this card with different patterned papers and colors.
I am not sure if I will be back tonight or not - I'd love to be, but DD is at a birthday party until about 7:30 and I think I might have to run and pick her up. DH is on his way home from Edmonton - he was at a safety course all day. So, I'm off to create something wild and terrific for supper (ya, I have NO IDEA what) BAH HAHAHA...I'm pretty good at wingin' it though...have a good night if I don't make it back.
Happy crafting!

Ever After #2

Welcome back to my mid-day installment :o) I cut enough paper to do 2 cards this morning and I said I would be back with a revised version of my previous wedding card. I really wanted to throw some red in the mix as I totally LOVE red, black and white together and I think those colors make gorgeous wedding cards!

I decided to go through all my nestabilities to see what shape/label set would go with the heart, and I settled on the ovals and scallop ovals. I hope you enjoy it -I sure do! I am going to cut enough paper to make about 5 more of these ones and then I will come up with something else :) Have a super afternoon!!

A Quick Wedding Card

Happy Monday everyone - how was your weekend? Mine was super busy but now things have calmed down somewhat, and I'm back in the craft room! Diana, the owner of Crestomere Store, told me yesterday at our stamping get-together that they need more wedding/shower cards so I got to work first thing this morning. I finished up some cards that were extras from yesterdays projects and just stamped them with wedding/shower sentiments. I also dug out this set, Ever After, and decided to try and whip something up this morning. I like it - the heart should have been up a bit more, but oh well - it's secured now! LOL...I am going to make some more of these ones, but I might use a nestabilites to stamp the heart image on. It's embossed with clear embossing powder :)

Recipe:

Stamps: Ever After; Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White; Ink: Basic Black, Black Versafine; Accessories: clear EP, scallop edge punch, white organza ribbon, small dots embossing folder, ticket corner punch, dimensionals, pearls

February Group Get-together

Good evening everyone...I've been busy in my craft room since I got home from Usona Hall this afternoon. We had our first monthly stamping club get-together today. We combined January and February's months due to bad weather last month, so we had a full afternoon of fun :o) The ladies all did well and they loved the projects we did. I already posted January's projects a while ago, so I thought I would finish up my February calendar pocket page and take some pics of the stuff today....

Like I explained last month, we are making a 12x12 perpetual calendar that has a card pocket on the top half of the calendar to hold cards for that particular month. Cool idea, hey?! The group all brain-stormed and threw ideas around, so this is what we came up with.

The congratulations card is one that Melissa and Leanne put together for me while I was gone on vacation to Florida. Thanks again, girls! I will get the pics of Bonnie and Sharon's card fronts up tomorrow :) Have a great night - I'm going to finish unpacking and watch some Olympics while sipping a hot chai tea. Night all!!

Blast from the past ..... BRACE YOURSELF!!!!

Happy HUMP DAY my fellow craftin' PEEPS! We didn't wake up to more extreme fog, just a bit of overcast BLAH-ness and it's really trying hard to snow in my neck of the woods. There are only a few flakes coming down.....

I have a very busy day/week/weekend ahead so I don't *think* I will be able to squeeze in any crafting time. My Dad and his GF are coming up sometime today, and then I have a full weekend with 4H, babysitting Cooper and Bailey and then stamping with my wonderful group of ladies on Sunday! So...I don't really forsee any good chunk of time in between schooling my kids and running them to sports, and all the other stuff going on.

I do however, have a very HILARIOUS post for you this morning...well, I think it's hilarious. My DH thought it was pretty funny too (in a cute way). While I was at Tamie's on the weekend, she took the liberty of showing me the very first card I ever gave her. When she pulled it out of the tin she had all her precious cards stored in and passed it to me....my mouth fell open....in disbelief! HAHAHAHHA...my first thought was "I made THIS?....but....but...it's so.....B-A-R-E!!!" I had to literally OPEN the card and read the inside - YEP, I gave it to her!!

So.....without further adieu....from approximately 12-13 years ago.....here is my first (or one of) creations I made for such a dear friend:

....and here, 12-13 years later....is how I craft NOW....hahahahah .....

Isn't that just the BESTEST post?!? I thought it was so awesome to see how I have "evolved" in my crafting abilities! We ALL still have our doubts sometimes if we are doing a good card or "I hope she will like it." Doesn't matter ladies...no matter WHAT you create, those dear to us will LOVE them!! TRUST ME!!!
Thanks for stopping in for my BLAST FROM THE PAST! Happy Stamping!!

FAB Family Day 3-for-1

Good evening from my craft room to yours! I've had the most FAB Family Day...I hope you all did too. We went over to Tamie and Rob's today and hung out. The men and kids were busy for a good chunk of the afternoon, so Tamie and I were able to sneak down into her craft room and C-R-E-A-T-E!!! It was so nice...thanks again, Tamie, for sharing all your wonderful goodies with me :) It was great to sit at YOUR space and make a card....

We started out with a color challenge from KL Stampin N Scrappin Blog...they wanted us to use RED, WHITE, & BLACK - yippeeee! I *heart* those colors together! Next, we skipped on over to the Crafty Creations Challenges where the challenge was to make something to do with FRIENDS...easy peesy again!! Last, but definitely not least, we headed on over to 365 Cards and found this wonderful sketch from Gloria:

...and this is the CUTIE PATOOTIE creation that came of 3 challenges today in Tamie's room:

...don'tchya just LUUUUVVVV those cute huggabugs??!! I sure do..and this card is screamin' friends. Make sure you hop on over to Tamie's blog to see her BEYOOTIFUL creation.

Tamie, thanks for such an awesome, relaxing Family Day. We had a great day. So sorry that Kaitlyn isn't feeling well...hope she's better soon. HUGZZZZ!!!

Sweet Sunday...Take #2

I know, I know...I wasn't coming back until Tuesday, but I just *had* to finish my 2nd card tonight for Stacey's Curtain Call and the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge....and put it on here before I went to bed. This card went a lot quicker and I didn't have as much difficulty with the colors...thanks for stopping in!

A Team Effort.....

Happy Valentine's Day to all my stampin' PEEPS! I hope that you've had a relaxing, chocolate-filled Sunday with your loved ones....I've had an awesome day with DH and DS - DD is at a friends house again overnight.

We received some news that a friend of DH lost his sister yesterday so I needed to come up with a Sympathy card and those I find the most challenging cards to make. SO...I hopped online to check out some challenge sites to see if they could help me with my creation - and there's no surprise that I found a couple! Stacey's Curtain Call had a perfect color combo for a sympathy card, and the Sweet Sunday Sketch this week was a great partner for the colors. I got to work right away....

My DH helped me out with this one - I love it when he's home - he puts in his 2 cents on my cards and helps me when I'm having a block. This card had to be revamped a couple times as I had difficulty with the color placement, but we got it figured out!

Here is our collective creation....

Recipe:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, So Saffron, Going Gray; Ink: Chocolate Chip; Accessories: Nestabilities, oval punches, paper piercer, sponge dauber, dimensionals, chocolate taffeta ribbon

Thanks for stopping in tonight. I am off to have a nice long, hot bubble bath with my new Body & Soul mag I got in the mail on Friday....tomorrow is a busy Family Day. We are heading up to Millet to *hang* with our good friends The Camps. I am going to crochet tomorrow while we visit and so I'll be back probably on Tuesday!
Enjoy the rest of your Valentine's Day evening and happy Family Day tomorrow! CHEERS!

Friday morning challenge(s)....

Good morning PEEPS! The house has been a bustle of activity already this morning and it's not even noon yet! I couldn't sleep past 6 a.m. due to an extremely sore back - I think I pulled something under my right shoulder blade (must have been a DOOZIE dream) so I got up and put some coffee on and threw some laundry in right away. I sat with my coffee and let the advil kick in...and scoped out some challenges to start this morning before the kids got home from Nana and Papa's ... they had a sleepover there last night.

The kids got home around 9 so we started school, and right now they are doing some art projects and other "non-school" related stuff (ya, ya...I know - I'm bad, right?!) NOPE...a Mama needs to get a bit of sanity time in there too. So, I created a card this morning in between social studies and math and since they are doing painting and such at the kitchen table, I took it as a prime opportunity to throw my card on my blog :o) Lucky for you hey, that you didn't have to WAIT all day! ahhahaha!!!

Today I did the Diva Break Coffee Designs color challenge of Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgundy and Soft Suede (along with a Valentine theme) and I combined it with a very clean, simple sketch from the Our Creative Corner Sketch team....

...here is the card I made using both challenges....I think I might give it to my husband for Valentine's Day. What do ya think?! Is it to feminine to give to my hubby?? I had a lot of fun making this one today - I dug out some old bling that I've had stashed away for EVAH!!! Feels good to use up old stash...

Recipe:
Stamps: Ever More, With All My Heart
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgundy, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Accessories: heart border punch, markers, paper piercer, nestabilities, heart corner punch, soft suede ribbon, dimensionals, bling, small dots sizzixs embossing plate
Thanks for stopping in this morning - I'm not sure when I'll be back to post next. My kids have gym tonight and I have to go to MY gym tonight (hopefully my back will cooperate) and then tomorrow we have 4H Public Speaking ... so I *might* not be back until tomorrow later on the afternoon :0) Have a super dooper day and happy stamping!!

....BEFORE 9 a.m?????

SURE CAN!!! I was checking out some of the comments all you wonderful PEEPS have put on my cards and I came across a message from Kristin from the Diva Coffee Break Designs Blog....she was telling me to hop on over to their site because there was some "good news" there that I would be happy about...hmmmmm..... :o)

HAPPY ABOUT?!?! OMGOSH I *FREAKED OUT!* I won 2 spots as the Featured Artist for December AND January (2 different cards!!! HOW FREAKIN' LUCKY IS THAT?!?! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the wonderful DT at DCBD! I sure am tickled to be chosen as a featured artist!!! And can't wait to participate in more of your ROCKIN' Challenges!!

OK...I *think* the excitement meter has overblown my wildest dreams for one day.....but...one just never knows.....off to grab a coffee -ta ta for now......

An EXCITING Thursday morning...

...before "coffee" even....My good friend, Tamie, just called me and was beside herself let me tell you!!! She told me that I won a button from The Play Date Cafe for the honor of being in the FAB 4! O-M-G-O-S-H!!! HOW EXCITING IS THAT?!?! Thank you Play Date Cafe for chosing my card as one of the Fab 4! Here's the card that got chosen CLICK HERE....

The color combination used on that card is right up my alley - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those colors so the card was fairly easy for me...and of course, Tamie brought out some wickedly cute stamps for us to color up! Thanks again girl for helping me win the Fab 4!! HUGS!!!

one more for the night...

...I would like to thank Ann Schach from The Stampin' Schach for her wonderful Valentine's Day card she made - click HERE to view her card. As soon as I saw it I just *had* to CASE it. I don't have the exact dove as Ann, and I used a few more Cuttlebug folders and changed the scallop punch, but I just thought this card was gorgeous and wanted to make a few of them for the store tomorrow. They are setting up a small table with single stemmed flowers, wine and some of my cards to sell for Valentine's Day! YAY ME! I'm so excited....

So, thanks to everyone for all the ideas I've come across and CASE'd - I sure do appreciate all the talent out there!

Here's the card I made using Ann's template:

I think that will be all for me tonight...I have a HUGE mess to clean up here in my craft room so I will do that now and then do a bit of book work before bed. I hope to be back tomorrow sometime...Melissa is coming over to help Kimberly with her French and then I have to run into town and pick up my van that is at the body shop. Take care, and have a super dooper night.

Hugs!!!
